Good morning! Last week I told you where I was, not I want you to know where I’ve been! The NEXT Church conference was wonderful- challenging, inspiring, hopeful, and insightful. If you’d like to know more about the conference- here are a couple of links that will share lots of good information- you can even watch the keynote presentations and worship services. I’d love to hear what you think!
http://nextchurch.net/gatherings/watch-now/
http://pres-outlook.org/tag/nextchurch/ If you are curious and would like to know more, Jessica Tate (the director of NEXT Church) will be the keynote presenter at the Presbytery of West Virginia’s Festival of Faith on Saturday, April 1. Her talk is titled, “The Spirit is On the Move—Signs of New Life.” Her workshop is titled “Practicing New Life—Tools for the Church in the 21st Century.”
I’m driving over to Charleston (which also includes workshops on the PW’s Bible Study for next year, the St. John’s Bible, and much, much more.) I still have 2 – 3 spots available and would love to go over with a full car! If you are interested, you can go here: http://www.wvpresbytery.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/FOF-binder.pdf or just ask me!

Finally, this Sunday is Youth Sunday. As Amy K. said in worship a few months ago, the youth aren’t the church of the future, they are the church of the present. I’m looking forward to their leadership in worship and invite you to pray for them in the days ahead as they prepare to share their faith with the entire congregation.

Peace,
Rev. Anna

Greetings from the Sunday School Class led by Chuck Lewis.

Thought for the week: Our readiness for the coming of Jesus is not in excited speculation but in faithful stewardship.
Last week's Genesis Quiz: How long was Joseph in prison and why was he released?
Answer: He was imprisoned a little over two years. During that time he interpreted 2 dreams that came true, one for the King's chief cupbearer that promised to remember Joseph but forgot him. Two years later Pharaoh had a dream nobody could interpret, that same cupbearer mentioned Joseph's ability. Joseph was released from prison, successfully interpreted the dream and was made ruler over Egypt.
This week's quiz: Sometime after this, Joseph had two sons. What was the significance of their names?
Last week's lesson taught us how abiding in God's love can cause us to do great things and can help us achieve the peace in our lives that only Christ can give.
This week our lesson focuses on how we can understand and work through times when wholesome relationships may be shattered by unloving and unfaithful actions. Background scriptures come from Joel, Acts, and 2 Peter. We have room for you this Sunday at 10:00 AM in the Conference Room

This coming Sunday our worship will be led by PYC. Come and be reminded that these young people are not the church of tomorrow, they are the church of today.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
