One of the vows we ask of new members is “to seek the fellowship of the church wherever they might be.”
I know that weekends aren’t what they used to be. We live in a world where people travel- whether for work, fun, sports, education, or adventure. There are any number of reasons why you might not be in the pew of your home church on a Sunday morning.
What I want to encourage all of you to do is to live into that vow of “seeking the fellowship of the church.”
No matter where you are- there is a worship service or a church there where you can gather with brothers and sisters in faith. Go! The Rev. Jan Edmiston, co-moderator of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) posted on her blog today that they even have chapels and worship services in most major airports- and they are well attended!
And, if you’re going to be away from where you can easily find the church, what about a simple worship service you can do yourself or with your family? I have some wonderful resources I would be happy to share.
The thing is, worship is important. It starts our week with an emphasis on the faith that is at the heart of all things. It is important for us to find that center and reconnect with it- just as with all relationships, faith requires nurture and attention.
So wherever you may wander, wherever you may roam I hope that if you are away from Lewisburg on a Sunday morning, I hope you will find a place to worship. And when you do, I’d love to hear about it- post a picture on facebook or bring back a bulletin! And know, that wherever you go, when we are apart, you are in our prayers.

Peace,
Rev. Anna

Greetings from the Sunday School Class led by Chuck Lewis.
Thought for the week: Relationships matter, and should be marked by respect, purity, mutual support, and compassionate care.
Last week's New Testament Quiz: A few moments after receiving the Holy Spirit, Peter addressed the gathered crowd. How many people were added to the Christians that day? Answer: About 3,000 persons.
This week's New Testament Quiz: People were selling their possessions and giving the money to those in need. Name the husband and wife that sold a piece of property, withheld some of the money, and claimed that all the money was donated.
Last week we studied Jonah's running from God's job for him, the punishment, his prayer and miraculous rescue. There can be times when we do not accept God's call to us until something bad happens to us.
This week a great wicked city receives a warning and repents. Come see how that applies to current community issues.
Background scriptures come from Jeremiah, Zechariah, Luke, Matthew, Acts, and Jonah. Come learn with us this Sunday at 10:00 AM in the Conference Room.
